Claude reset time calculator

By Claude Resets · Updated

Every account has its own reset time, so nobody else’s countdown is yours. Enter your weekly reset time and your 5-hour window below to see exactly when your Claude limits refill, then add each reset time to your calendar.

Your weekly limit

Find it in Settings → Usage, e.g. “Resets Friday 4:00 PM”.

How to find your Claude reset time

You need two times, and both are shown by Claude itself:

  1. 01Weekly reset time: open Settings → Usage on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop. Under the weekly limit it says something like “Resets Friday 4:00 PM”. That day and time repeat every week, in your local time.
  2. 025-hour reset time: when you hit the session limit, Claude prints it, for example “5-hour limit reached · resets 5pm”. Type /usage in Claude Code to see it any time.
  3. 03No message yet? Your 5-hour window opens with your first message, so the reset time is five hours after that. Use “I just sent my first message” in the tool.

Why every account has a different reset time

The weekly reset time is assigned per account, not globally, which is why a teammate’s week can refill on Tuesday while yours waits until Friday. The 5-hour reset time depends on when you started the current window. That is also why early resets from Anthropic feel so different from person to person; see Claude reset history.

Does the reset time follow my time zone?

Yes. Claude shows every reset time in your local time, and this calculator uses your device clock, so the countdown matches what Claude shows.

Can the reset time change?

Your weekly reset time normally stays the same. An early reset from Anthropic refills your limits sooner but does not move your regular weekly reset time. Our weekly limit reset guide explains the details.

Put each reset time in your calendar

The calendar buttons download a small .ics file that works with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook. The weekly reset time repeats every week; the 5-hour reset time is a one-off reminder. Nothing is uploaded: your reset times stay in this browser.

Plan your work around the reset time

A few habits make the most of each refill:

  1. 01Start heavy Opus or Claude Code work right after your weekly reset time.
  2. 02Open your 5-hour window on purpose with a short first message before a deep-work block.
  3. 03If your weekly reset time is days away, check Settings → Usage for a saved “Reset for free” card, or our reset odds for an early reset.

FAQ

What time does Claude reset?

+

There is no single time. The 5-hour limit refills five hours after your window opened, and the weekly limit refills at a reset time set for your account, shown in Settings → Usage.

Is the reset time the same for Claude Code?

+

Yes. Claude Code, chats and Cowork share one allowance, so they share the same 5-hour and weekly reset time.

Does Anthropic ever reset limits before my reset time?

+

Yes, 14 times between April and September 2026. We log each one and can email you when the next lands. See the dated sources.
