How Claude resets work
The 5-hour window
Your 5-hour session starts with your first message and refills five hours later. Claude resets from Anthropic refill it early, so you can keep going right away.
The weekly limit
Each account has its own weekly reset time. When Anthropic resets weekly limits for everyone, people close to their own refill gain little, while people who just ran out gain a full week.
Reset for free cards
Since the Opus 5.5 launch, some Claude resets come as a saved card. You pick the moment to use it, it can't be undone, and it expires on the date shown. The live card is only for accounts admitted to Claude Duet.

What are Claude resets?

Claude resets are moments when Anthropic restores your 5-hour and weekly usage limits to full before they would refill on their own. Most Claude resets are announced by @ClaudeDevs on X after an outage, a bug or a model launch.
Will Claude reset usage limits soon?

Only Anthropic knows for sure, but a Claude usage reset usually follows an outage, a limit bug or a model launch. The odds box above adds up those signals for the next 7 days, so check it before you ration your hours.
How often do Claude resets happen?

Between April and September 2026 we logged 14 Claude resets, roughly one every 12 days. Claude resets are not on a schedule, which is why this tracker estimates the odds instead of promising a date. See every dated source.
Do Claude resets apply to every plan?

Most Claude resets cover Pro, Max and Team. Some only reach Max users or the accounts hit by a bug. The free plan has not received a reset card so far.
Why don't I see the Reset for free button?

The live Reset for free card is only for Pro and Max accounts admitted to the Claude Duet preview. It shows on the web and in Claude Desktop under Settings → Usage, not in the mobile app or in Claude Code in the terminal, and it disappears if you downgrade or cancel.
Is Claude Resets run by Anthropic?

No. Claude Resets is an independent tracker. We read public posts and the public status page; we have no inside access.
